This item is a request to grant a medical leave of absence to Robert
Tabery. The bylaws of the Rosemount Fire Department allow members, with
the approval of the City Administrator, to grant up to 60 days of medical
leave per calendar year. This first 60 days of medical leave was granted
to Robert Tabery by the membership with City Administrator approval from
September 24, 1991 until November 22, 1991.
Robert Tabery is unable to return to unrestricted duty as of November 23,
1991 and thus needs an extension of medical leave. Any time beyond 60 days
per calendar year requires city council approval in addition to the
approval of the membership and the City Administrator. The membership at
its regular meeting of November 26, 1991, approved such an extension of
medical leave and the leave has also been approved by Steve Jilk, City
Administrator. This leave would be retroactive to November 23, 1991 with
no specified date of return, unless the council were to stipulate.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion by city council to approve a medical leave of absence for
Robert Tabery effective November 23, 1991 with no specified date of
return.
