This item is a request to spend a maximum of $100 to send a maximum of 10
fire fighters to an Alan Brunacini seminar at Lakewood Community College on
March 21, 1992. This is second in the series of lectures that he has been
brought to town to give. Most of the expense for his presentations are
picked up by the Capital City Regional. Individual fire departments are
only charged $10.00 per person which covers the seminar, meals and all of
the handouts. The six of us who attended his first lecture found it to be
very worthwhile, informative and interesting:
I am polling all of the officers of the fire department at the present time
to see how many of them would be interested in attending. That is why I
have set the maximum at 10 should all persons be interested. I would guess
that we would have somewhat less than that amount but am using this two -
track approach as reservations for these presentations do fill up very
quickly. My hope is that everyone will have decided as to whether they
want to attend or not atthesame time that we receive authorization for
doing so and we can get our reservations in the mail rather quickly.
Money for an item such as this has been budgeted for and is still available
in the 1991 budget in Account #101-42210-01-308.
RECOMMENDED ACTIONS
Motion by city council to authorize the fire department to spend up to
$100 to send a maximum of 10 members to the Alan Brunacini seminar at
Lakewood Community College.
