This item is a request for authorization to send two persons to the
Metropolitan Trauma Conference to be held in Shakopee. It is a one day
conference and is scheduled to be held on Saturday, November 2, 1991. The
conference is targeted at first responders, police and fire personnel who
arrive first on the scene to lend aid primarily in the case of auto
accidents but also in all trauma type situations. We have not sent anyone
in the past to this conference but feedback we received back from other
departments indicates that it is well worthwhile.
The cost for the two firefighters to attend would be only for tuition at
$65.00 each for a total of $130.00. Money has been budgeted in the 1991
budget for medical training. It would come from Account #101-42210-01-
437.
The two persons who would be attending the conference are Scott Adrian and
David Bailey.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion to authorize the fire department to spend $130.00 to send two
persons to the Metropolitan Trauma Conference in November.
