On April 18th the University of Minnesota Advisory Committee will meet to
discuss several issues relating to land use on the research property.
Please see the attached memo announcing this meeting and the list of items
to be discussed. Item 2. and most of those listed under Item 4 are issues
the City is asking to be considered and ones which we will attempt to
provide direction for action:
I will provide additional discussion at the meeting on Tuesday.

SUBJECT: Council Meeting, Thursday, April 18, at 1:00 p.m.
At the Agriculture Experiment Station Office.
1605 160th street west.
We gathered last November to share a meal and to hear and
see a presentation of goodby from Dr. Wilcox. We also enjoyed
the talk and slides that LaVonne Nicolai brought to us from her
experience traveling in Russia. A greeting was given by Richard
Jones who is now Dean of The College Of Agriculture and an
Associate Director of the statewide Experiment Station system.
Previous to that, our last meeting was on January 26, 1990.
It has been a quiet time for issues such as those we have dealt
with previously.
Please let chairperson Jerry Stelzel,(463-8142) or vice
chair Richard Brand (463-8314) know of agenda items you would
like to see covered.
My thoughts on agenda items are as follows:
1 - Re 1eCt=on, nominati-ns for new me-mbe'rs a -d reorganization
of members as necessary, according to the by laws. Attached is a
list showing the status of all present members.
2 - Review of a Proposal for the U of M to store Dakota County
collected dioxin household hazardous Waste at the Research Center
permitted facility. Review suggested by Donna Anderson, Dakota
County Public Health Director and Fay Thompson, Acting Director
of Environmental Health and Safety for the U of M.
3 - Dean Richard Jones, Associate Director to report and discuss
as applicable the situation in the College of Agriculture and the
Experiment Station. I will suggest some of this could be
progress relative to redirection, status of state budget
appropriations and how Rosemount might be affected. Feedback of
where the advisory council would like to sec Rosemount in this
process, and what is important in the job description for a
future superintendent`
