After an overwhelming response to our ad for an -Accountant, we
are finally ready to make a recommendation to council. With the
help of Roger Schanus, of Boeckermann, Heinen & Mayer(our audit
firm), we have made our choice for the position of Accountant.
We recommend the hiring of Jane Gilb to this position. Based on
her 16 years of experience, her excellent education
qualifications, and some very impressive accomplishments in the
accounting and computer areas, we feel that this person is best
suited to fill our needs.
We recommend that Jane start out a salary of $26,122, which is
the middle of "B" for this position. This is a little out of the
ordinary, but with the qualifications that Jane has we feel that
the investment is well worth it.
This position will be funded completely from the Water & Sewer
Funds.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion to approve the hiring of Jane Gilb to the position of
Accountant with a salary beginning at $26,122, subject to passing
a pre-employment physical.
