This item is a request to grant a medical leave of absence to Chuck
Stauffer. The bylaws of the Rosemount Fire Department to allow the
members, with the approval of the city administrator, to grant up to 60
days of medical leave per calendar year. This 60 days was granted for the
months of April and May of 1991.
Chuck Stauffer is unable to return to unrestricted duty as of June 1, 1991
and thus needs an extension of medical leave. Anytime beyond 60 days per
calendar year requires council approval, in addition to the approval of the
membership and the city administrator. The membership, at its regular
meeting of May 28, 1991, approved such an extension of medical leave and
the leave has also been approved by Steve Jilk, City Administrator. This
leave would be retroactive to June 1, 1991 with no specified date of return
unless the council were to stipulate.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion by city council to approve a medical leave of absence for
Chuck Stauffer effective June 1, 1991 with no specified date of
return.
