Based on the preliminary schedule we have received the conference looks as though it will again offer several opportunities for learning in the areas of: leadership, management, economic development, and environmental issues. In the past at least one Council member and I have attended. Last year, Joe Walsh, representing the EDA also attended. Since I have asked all department heads to curtail national conferences in 1991 for budget purposes, I would not attend. There are funds budgeted for council attendance. I would suggest that anyone wishing to attend decide quickly as good motels fill quickly. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the attendance of council members to the NLC Convention in Las Vegas in December 1991.
