This item is a request to spend $1,000 to have the pump on our aerial truck
and on each of our three pumpers tested and certified. A test of this type
and the documentation that goes along with it is required prior to an ISO
visit.
George Lundy, Fire Marshal, sought bids to provide this service. He
received a quote from Custom Fire for $300.00 per vehicle if we would
deliver the vehicles to Osceola, Wisconsin. He also received a bid from
Emergency Fire Apparatus for $250.00 per vehicle and they will pick the
vehicles up at our fire station. We would like to proceed with the work
being done by Emergency Fire Apparatus at $250.00 per vehicle for a total
of $1,000. Money was not budgeted for this specific expenditure in the
1991 fire department budget. We would be charging it to account
#101-42210-01-310. This account has $1,000 in it which was earmarked for
ladder and aerial platform testing.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion by city council to allow the fire department to spend $1,000 to
have four pumps tested and certified.
COUNCIL ACTION:
Approved.
