Public officials located within the Dakota Search Area (Rosemount included)
have been invited to a meeting at the Technical College on Thursday,
February 21st at 7:00 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to present
information/criteria on the selection of the three airport candidate search
areas and the process to select the final search area. A public meeting to
receive input on the process has been set at 7:00 pm., March 20th at the
Rosemount High School Similar meetings are being held in the other two
search areas.
Representative from Dakota County, its cities and townships met on February
13th to discuss the potential for establishing a joint position statement.
This may be difficult based upon the range of view points surrounding the
search area selection and it implications. Another meeting has been set
for February 27th. It is hoped that any position statements will be
available for Council review at the March 5th Regular Meeting.
Steve Jilk and I would like to discuss the issues surrounding this process
in more detail at the February 19th Regular Meeting.
