The Town Green Committee has developed'a concept plan fQO7the
development of the area of Erickson Park located next to City
Halla Other areas of the plan are located along the Park & Ride,
the -St. Joseph's Church,Cemetery, the Sunrise Builders Co., State
Highway #3, the site of the future armory, and the rest of the
Erickson Park site.
As identified in this study much of the development of the Town
Green concepts will be done on a "phasing" method. Involved in
this phasing is the relocation of the present hockey rinks next to
city hall as well as the construction of a park shelter next to
the new rink location. The shelter and rinks were.to have been
constructed in the 1.990 program year. These CIP funds were -
approved by Council to be carried forward for project completion.
Because of the "Space Needs Study" conducted that year the funding
for the rinks and shelter were encumbered and transferred for -use
in the 1991 budget year. In 1991 the projects were put on hold
until the Town Green Master Plan could be completed. •
This topic has been discussed at the Town Green meetings and it
was agreed in concept that on a short term basis the hockey rinks
would be relocated in an'area behind and adjacent to the west of
the old Mn.Dot garage building. The rinks and lights would be
scheduled to be taken from the site after from 10 - 15 years and
to be located in another park or as dictated by the citizens at
that time. The shelter that is to be built would be constructed in
an area near the rinks south of the location of the present hockey
rinks.
OSM Engineering has submitted a quote of $ 6,880 to survey the
boarder of Erickson Park, to survey and evaluate the site for the
construction of the park shelter and hockey rinks, and to complete

Re: Proposal for Engineering Services
for Hockey Rinks North of City Hall
within Erickson Park
City of Rosemount, Minnesota
Dear Dave and Boyd:
Thank you for this opportunity to present this proposal to you to provide engineering
services to the City of Rosemount Parks Department.
The proposed services are for the preliminary investigation, preparation of the grading plan,
and construction staking for the hockey rink area north of City Hall. It would also include
a sanitary sewer extension plan for a future warming building. The total cost of these
services is estimated to be $6,880. The cost includes providing survey control to the area
to enable this proposed improvement and future improvements to be located on file County
Coordinate System. This would allow utilization of data from the County Ultimap System.
The City is expected to provide record plans, plats and concept plans for the area.
The costs and tasks outlined above would be completed at the direction of city staff and
invoiced to the City on an hourly basis. There are many variables involved in this estimate
and it should not be interpreted as a minimum or a maximum cost. We will make every
effort to keep you informed of our costs as the project progresses.
We have on staff a Registered Architect and a Registered Landscape Architect which could
provide you with additional technical expertise for the future improvements within Erickson
Park. We would be happy to provide you with estimates for this work as requested.
Mr. David J. Bechtold
Mr. Boyd Bailey

project.
