On Thursday July 11, 1991 bids for improvement project #222 Count Hills
Fourth Addition were received and read allowed publicly.
Four bids were received on the project. The individual firms are
identified on the attached bid tabulation sheet.
The apparent low bidder is Ryan Construction of Lakeville with a total
construction cost of $194,377.25. The total construction cost is
consistent with the engineers estimate in the feasibility report. Costs
were estimated to be $186.750.00. The bid price is within 4% of the
estimate which was based upon 1990 construction prices.
The next lowest bid was received from Brown and Cris Inc. also of Lakeville
in the amount of $220,382.94. The difference between the two lowest bids
is $26,005.69.
All bids were accompanied by a 5% bid bond as required in the bid
documents. There were no glaring informalities with any of the bid
documents_. At the time of this preparation the bids are being examined in
detail for completeness and accuracy.
Based upon the initial examination it is staffs recommendation to make an
award to the apparent low bidder. This recommendation will be amended at
the meeting should any irregularities be discovered.

A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT
FOR COUNTRY HILLS 4TH ADDITION STREET AND UTILITY
IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT 222
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. All bids on construction of Country Hills 4th Addition
Street and 4Utlity Improvements are hereby received and
tabulated.
2. The bid of Ryan Contracting Inc., in the amount of
$194,377.25 for the construction of said improvements in
accordance with the plans and specifications and
advertisement for bids is the lowest responsible bid and
shall be and hereby is accepted.
3. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed
to enter into a contract with said bidder for the
construction of said improvements for and on behalf of
the City of Rosemount.
4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with
their bids, except that the deposit of all successful
bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained
until a contract has been executed.
ADOPTED this 16th day of July, 1991.
