Approve Expenditure for Portable Oxygen ResuscitatorCITY OF ROSEMOUNT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY FOR ACTION CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: January 2, 1991 AGENDA ITEM: AGENDA SECTION: Expenditure/Portable Oxygen Resuscitator Consent PREPARED BY: AGENDA Scott Aker, Fire Chief ATTACHMENTS: A OV BY: < None Again this year the fire department was successful in applying for and receiving a grant in the amount of $461.00 from Dakota County. This money, as we applied for it, was designated toward the purchase of an oxygen resuscitating unit. The total cost of the unit is $530.00. After we spend the $530.00 from our budget, the $461.00 will be deposited as a repayment, thus costing us only $69.00 in city funds. We have been successful in receiving this grant money several times in the past and will continue to attempt to receive it in the future. At the time we were making application, we solicited bids from various suppliers of this equipment. At the time, Medical Oxygen and Equipment Company, Inc. was the low bidder with $530.00. I have contacted them and they are still able to supply the equipment at that price. Now that we have two vehicles set up as rescue vehicles, we were in need of an additional unit of this type. This unit will end up on our newer rescue truck with the current one being rotated to the old rescue truck. This item will be expended from Account 101-42210-01-580 out of the 1991 budget. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion by city council to allow the fire department to spend $530.00 on portable oxygen resuscitator. COUNCIL ACTION: Approved.
