This item is a request to spend approximately $650.00 for maintenance and
repairs on our self-contained breathing apparatus air compressor. Each
year in January we have routine maintenance done to the compressor,
including the changing of air filters and all those things which are
specified to be done under warranty. This usually costs approximately
$200.00. We have had problems with the air compressor leaking excessively
and an inspection indicated that one valve is in need of replacement and we
believe the other two that are leaking can be fixed by rebuilding and
replacing "O" rings. The cost of the repairs is approximately $450.00 and
was mentioned the routine maintenance is usually approximately $200.00.
This item will be expended from Account 101-42210-01-221 out of the 1991
budget.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion by city council to allow the fire department to spend $650.00
for repairs and routine maintenance on the self-contained breathing
apparatus air compressor.
COUNCIL ACTION:
Approved.
