Based upon the request Joe Walsh has submitted regarding tansportation to
the Blandin Foundation, I am submitting a request and recommendation for
the City to pay a portion of the transportation costs for City of Rosemount
attendees to the Blandin retreat in February.
As Joe had pointed out the City's share would be $192.
I feel it is a worthy expenditure to provide support for the joint effort.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt a motion to authorize the expenditure of $192 for Blandin
Foundation attendees for transportation expenses in February, 1991
from account # 101-41810-01-339.
COUNCIL ACTION:
Approved.

SUBJECT: BLANDIN RETREAT
At the retreat group meeting in Farmington on January 3rd, I
presented the idea of using a motor coach to take the whole
group up to Deerwood. The cost is about $760 from American
Transportation. The Northfield Bus Lines wanted $$16 to
pick up at the three cities, American wants the business.
I presented the idea that the cost be split up three ways,
with $ 254 per city or $ 32 per delegate. Farmington is
going to the Council and HRA for it's share. Northfield
thought that the city would cover their share. I am not to
sure about Rosemount.
I would like to ask that the city act as the supplier of
transportation. That is the city cover the initial cost
and sign whatever papers are needed, and act as the receiver
of the funds from the other cities. I would also ask that
the Council and EDA cover the cost for the Rosemount group,
and assign Tracie to watch over the project.
EDA to cover Tracie and Joe = $64
City to cover Sheila and the others = $192
TOTAL CITY COST ABOUT $ 254.00
I will be asking the Rosemount delegates to provide some
cookies and coffee, refreshments for the trip up.
I hope that this can be placed on the Council agenda for
January 15th, some of the delegates may wish to attend.
I trust that something can be worked out so that this retreat
group can be the first to "car pool" to the retreat.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.
