RESOLUTION 1991 - 27
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF ROSEMOUNT
TO ESTABLISH A PORT AUTHORITY UNDER MINNESOTA STATUTE 469.048
WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount carries on certain development and
redevelopment activities through the City of Rosemount Economic
Development Authority; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount deems it essential to the economic
security of the community and the region to carry on these
development and redevelopment activities to retain the economic
viability of the community and to establish certain means by which
to manage those conditions which inhibit proper industrial and
commercial development; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of the City of Rosemount as a Port
Authority under Minnesota State Statutes 469.048 would allow the
City to carry on those activities necessary to deal with those
conditions.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Rosemount requests the Minnesota State Legislature to adopt
enabling legislation to grant the City of Rosemount the authority
to establish a Port Authority under Minnesota State Statutes
469.048 or such legislation duly enacted by the Minnesota State
Legislature allowing the City of Rosemount to establish such an
Authority.
