Dennis Wippermann ADMINISTRATOR Stephan Jilk On Tuesday, April 30th, the City Council will meet as the City "Board of Review" and entertain the Dakota County Staff and local taxpayers in hearing concerns and complaints about property values. In the past the City Council opened this meeting, turned it over to the County Staff to handle and adjourned the council meeting. This is our intent this year, although with the way taxes have increased we may have several persons who wish to make comments which may lengthen the City Council's involvement. Be that as it may, we hope to take about three hours after the Council is finished with the Board of Review to discuss matters of importance to all of you and the Council. What I would ask you to do is the following: 1. Consider areas of concern you have regarding the operation of your department, items of major purchase you have in the 5 year CIF, major projects you are working on and general problems you are facing re: personnel and funding; and relate these to the council. This is not to be a complaint session, a time for pitching 1:1the council on any„curtain project or need, but an opportunity to simply bring them up to speed on where you and your department are at. 2. Allow yourself no more than twenty minutes to make a verbal presentation and ten more minutes for follow up. This would allow all of us to get through our discussions in three hours. Don't think you have to have twenty minutes but make the discussion long enough to touch on your concerns/projects/issues without / shortchanging yourselves. 6very1h1ngIU s (Povning p gosemouni!! I want to emphasize this so that we don't get off on one project or department and spend the whole evening in one area. Please have, to me, by Monday at 11:00 a.m. a brief summary of what you will discuss. We will then review these on Tuesday, the 30th, at our staff meeting. I will outline them all in a summary to the council at the start of the session on Tuesday, April 30th. lj
