Subject: Cash Register
I am requesting authorization to issue a Purchase Order in
the amount of $1,164.OQ for the purchase of a new Sharp cash
register. The existing cash register was purchased in 1976
for use at the counter by the Deputy Registrar location. In
1989 we had our ongoing maintenance contract pulled on the
old system, but were fortunate that the service man that has
taken care of our unit for the last five or six years went to
bat for us and got it reinstated. With this as a possible
threat we put monies in the Finance Departments 1990 budget
to replace this unit.
We �ave received quotes from two vendors and they are so
close in amounts for comparable units that we have selected
the vendor we have been dealing with all these years to
present to you as the vendor we want to do business with. We
are very pleased with the reliability of the Sharp unit we
have been using all these years and are very pleased witfi the
maintenance provided by this f�rm.
We are not proposing to trade the unit we now have as it is a
negative value on a trade. We have had smali discussions
with Parks & Rec thinking they may find a need for it in
their program receipting now that they will be in a somewhat
remote loeation downstairs here at City Nall . If that
doesn't come to pass th�n other arrangements will be made.
