Order Feasibilitv Report/160th Street Watermain, Ci� Proiect �213
This item consist of Council adapting the attached re�alution ordering the
preparation of the feasibility report for the extension of watermain along
16ot1� Street east of Chippendale Avenue. This memo provides some
baakground on this matter and alsa recommended acti4n for Caunc�.�. to take.
As Council is aware, Knutson Rubbish will be constructing a new recycling
building along 160th Street east of Triple A Auto Salvage. The need for
occupancy this fa11 has precipitated our request to have Council autharize
prEparatian of a feasibility report to extend watermain to that area. our
Building Codes now reguire that all new buildings be equipped with a fire
suppression system. In order for Knutson to have occupancy this fall we
will have to extend the watermain to that property. The timing of this
works out quite nicely as we will be extending the 12" watermain dawn
Chippendale Avenue as part of the Chippendale Avenue Street Improvement
project ta be built this summer.
This project will be considered a Council initiated project because we do
not have a petition from the benefited property owners. What this means in
the process is that it will take a 4/5 vote of the Council ta proceed witY�
the project after the eQmpletion of the public hearing. The o�dering of
the feasibility report still only takes 3/5 of the Council.
Recommended action for Council to consider is to adopt the attached
resolution ordering the preparatian of the feasibility report for 160th
Street Watermain, City Proaect #213 .

CITY PROJECT �213
WHEREAS, the City eouncil of the City of Rosemount deems it
necessary to investigate the feasibility of 160th Street Watermain
Extension improvements east of Chippendale Avenue, City Project
#213 .
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Engineer is directed to have
the necessary feasibility report prepared for 160th Street
Watermain Extension Improvements, City Project #213 .
