RE: Accept Bid - Rescue Vehicle
, Bids on the proposed. rescue truck were due .in to city ha1� on
' April 6. On April 6 , 1990 the bids were opened. There was only
one bidder; Road Rescue. They had no exceptions to any of the
specifieations and feel they eould deliver the exact vehicle
specified if awarded the contract . �
The Rescue Truck Committee met on April 9 to review the bid for
any exceptions and' look at the need to propose any alternate
options as was svggested by the city council . Items that were
original].y suggested but we�e left off the bid to reduce the
cost , al.ong with their price and priority of need, are listed in
the table which follows : .

' This information was passed on to the fire department membership
at a special meeting on April 10, 1990. The membership voted to :
]. . Accept the bid from Road Reseue at $99 , 350.00.
2 . Accept the optional alternate payment method if it were to
be approved by the Finance Department and city council
which reduces the cost to $95 ,873.00.
3 . Aecept the proposed list of alternates if the council felt
it would be economically feasible and cost effective to add
them at this time.
4 . r4ake up any additional monies (CIP = $95 ,000) from the fire
department operating budget, if an alternate method of
funding is not available.

Therefore, the fi�e department would recommend to the city
council : �
1 . That the top three alternates be included at this time in
the total vehicle package .
Rear Light Bar $ 280.00
2 Additional Spot Lights $ 1 , 237.00
2 Rechargeable Lanterns $ 250.00
$ 1 , 767 .00
and
2 . That the bid £rom Road Rescue , employing the alternate
payment method be accepted £or a total of $95 ,873 .00 plus
alternates totaling $1 , 767 for a delivered cost of
$97 , 640.00.
