This item consist of requesting Council to author' z Corrigan Electric
to proceed to move an electrical service entrance or Gas Supply Co.
because of the location of the watermain that we are constructing past
their property. The reason we need ta relocate the electrical service
to Gas Supply is that we are negotiating with them for an additional
17 ' of easement along the frontage of 160th Street. This easement
will be necessary in the future when 160th Street is upgraded to
County standards. This also provides us alignment to place our
watermain outside the construction limits when 160th Street is
improved.
In doing so we will be xelocating the existing fence to a distance .of
50' north of the centerline of 160th Street. This would leave the
electrical service to Gas Supply outside of the fenced & secured area.
Therefore as part of this project we need to relocate the service
entrance so that it is within their final fence boundary for their'
security purposes. Because we initiated this project, these cost
should be part of the project cost. The project cost for this
contract are proposed to be funded partially through care facilities
and partially through sales of bonds which we are looking into doing
late this year.
The cost for doing this work is less than $15, 000. I obtained two
quotes, one from Corrigan Electric and the other from McNamara
Electric, both in Rosemount.
I would recommend going with the Corrigan Electric quate that came in
at $5, 121. McNamara quote was $8,326.36. Both contractors are -
familiar with what needs to be done.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion to authorize Corrigan Electric to proceed with moving electrical
service entrance to Gas Supply Co. at a cost not to exceed $5, 121.
COUNCIL ACTION:
Approved.
