MINNESOTA 55068 l s i 2—a23-aa i i July 18, 1990 Rosemount Business Community: Enclosed is a copy of the City of Rosemount sign provisions, unanimously adopted by the City Council on July 3, 1990. These regulations replace the interim sign provisions, included in the City's revised Zoning Ordinance, which was adopted on September 19, 1989 . The new sign provisions are a result of extensive =esearch and evaluation by City staff, Planning Commission, City Council and members of the business community. The purposes of the sign pravisions include the creation of standards to provide effective identification of structures for business/service promotion and public safety and the establishment of regulations to protect the public health, safety and welfare. While the sizes and number of signs have been expanded in some instances, of particular interest to the business community may be the new provisions for "temporary" or "portable" signs . Permits are required for these signs; however, there will be no fee. The use of banners and pennants has also been added to the ordinance, without fee or permit. The City Council has authorized staff to conduct an inventory of signs in the City. The purpose of the inventory is to identify signs which do not conform to the Zoning Ordinance requirements . It is the intention of the City Council to cause the removal of all signs which do not legally comply with City standards. The inventory is anticipated to take three months to complete. There will be no notices or citations issued during this period. If you have any questions regarding the new sign provisions or permit procedures, contact the Community Developrnent Department at 423-4411 . Any other questions or comments may be directed to members of the City Council, as well as City staf f. t. - City of Rosemount TEMPORARY StGN PERMIT Permit Na Request Numberr 1 2 3 4 5 6 SITE ADDRESS: LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Owaer's Name• Owner's Address• Tenant's Name: Tenant's Address: DATE OF INSTALLATION: DATE OF REMOVAL: LocationJPlacement on Property (Attach Drawing): TYPE OF SIGN: Beacon Other (Describe): Inflatable Portable ZOITING DISTRICT• Dimensions: X X Length Width Height ELECTRICAL: Backlit Intemally Lit Non-iliuminated (Electrical installations must be according to N.E.C.)
