RE: EDA Board Vacancy
There still remains' a vacancy on the EDA Board. This vacancy, of
course, still remains due to the resignation of former Mayor
Hoke.
The city has received three applications for the position. We
have postponed any action on these applications due to the
consideration and adoption of the job descriptions and
"responsibilities of board members" for all
commissions/committees . Now that this process is complete, the
council should proceed to fill this position.
The process to fill the position is set out very clearly in the
documents recently adopted. Before proceeding, however, I would
ask that any council member not now serving on the EDA Board
consider serving.
�de are entering, what I believe to be a time of mare concerted
effort in the area of economic development in our city. This
effort will need even more strength and depth in the relationship
of the EDA and the city. To accomplish this while implementing
the goals and objectivesof the city will be a major undertaking.
Having three members of the council on the EDA may help support
this effort.
If a council member wishes to serve, please be prepared to
indicate that so the process can be abbreviated.
