MINNESOTA 55068 G//'. /[. 612-423-4411 ITEM # TO: Mayor Napper Council Member Klassen, Oxborough, Willcox, Wippermann Stephan Jilk, City Administrator FROM: Susan Johnson, City Clerk , DATE: August 3, 1990 RE: Appointment of Election Judges and Setting Compensation Attached for Council' s adoption under the Consent Agenda is a resolution appointing election judges for the Primary Election on September 11 and the General Election on November 6. State election law requires Council appointment of election judges. With regards to compensation, I would like to requast that co- captains receive $4.50 an hour rather than $4.25. In past years, co-captains have xeceived the same as all the judges, with the exception of the Captains, who currently receive $5.00. There are sufficient funds in the Elections Budget to cover this small increase. The captains strongly rely on the co-captains for their support in understanding the optical scan equipment, the ever-changing election laws, and getting all their "tasks" accomplished on election day. I, therefore, feel these four women should be paid slightly more than the election judge hourly wage. . .
