RE: Purchase of Striping Machine
Rick Cook, the Supervisor of Parks Maintenance, researched several, ;
striping machines. This involved sending for materials pertaining ta
the operation of the machines as well as requests for demonstrations of, '
machine operation.
Several companies were contacted w:tth only one responding with 8
machine that would match our �ob requirements. That company was, also
the only one to be able to bring out a machine that demonstrated the
ability to perform the striping on both turf and pavement that we • ,
• require.. . . .
The machine that we are asking apprnval to purchase is of_high quality
and proven background. Both the Lakeville Public Schools and the
Rosemaunt Public Schools have this type of striper and their
maintenance staff is very pleased with the product.
Funding for this item is designated to come from account �50 of the
1990 CIP for Public Works. That account has a balance of $5,000,00 to
be used towards the purchase of the striping machine.
The quote for the machine from the Kromer Co. is $ 5,684.00. The
amount over $5,000.0�, $684.00, wi11 be covered by an upcoming donation
from the "Inhouse Soccer" program.
Council action is to "authorize the purchase of the striper machine
from the Kromer Co. for the amount of $5,684.00."
