Auprove Street Liqht Installation at Dodd Road and Caunty ftoad 38
The Publi� Works Department has received request asking for the
installation of a street light at Dodd Road and Cour�ty Road 38. We
consider podd Road to be a north-south Gity collector street becaus� it
serves more than just adjacent property and also is ditect a direct
conneetion to another City (Eagan) . County Road 38 functions as � County
minor arterial, sa we feel it would be appropriate and beneficial to have a
street light installed at this major in�ersection. D�kota Electri�
Association provides electrical service to this �rea �nd informs us they
would install the street light for around $50p.
The overhead street light would need to be 250 watts with a 10�-12 � mast
arm to effectively light up �he intersection.
In the 1990 Operating Budget under Street Lighting, (43160) I budgQted
$2 ,000 for contracted repair. Thus far we have spent �bout $2U0 so I feel
confident that we could use the $500 from this line item to finance the
installation of this street light.
Recommended acti.Qn for Council to consider is to approve the i�st�ll�tion
of the street light at Dodd Road and County RQad 38.
