The First Responder Certification, which all Rosemount Fire Department
personnel possess is good for a two-year period. Each year the fire
department offers a class and re-certifies half of the department. Early
in 1991 we would again like to offer this class for approximately half of
our personnel. The cost for this class is $400. 00 and we do have that
amount budgeted for in 1991. In the past we have been successful in
recouping all the costs of this class by applying for a grant through the
Dakota County Emergency Service Preparedness Coordinator. We have again
applied for this grant for '91 but will not hear of its success or failure
until mid-1991.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion by city council to allow the fire department to spend $400. 00 for
First Responder re-certification for half of the Rosemount Fire
Department personnel.
COUNCIL ACTION:
Approved.
