RE: Formation ot Town Green Ad Hoe Committee
As you know, the coneept of Town Green has captured the
imagination and interest of many eitizens and members of the
civic and business community . There is a genuine readiness on
the part of several key civic Ieaders to get behind the project
with fund raising and promotional activities . Qn Monday,
June 19, I will present the concept of a Town Green Ad Hoc
Committee to the Park Board. If the Park Board is willing to
support the general eoncept of this committee, I would be asking
you to give your approval to forming the committee. A brief
review of the membership and scope of this committee is outlined
below.
Membership: S - 6 members including civic group
business
citizen
Park Board
council liaison
Charge: 1 . Work with Park Board and City sta£f in evaluating
an overall land-use inventory of Erickson Park and
the development of �hat �ark. To also work on
subsequent RFQ' s and RFP s for potential landscape
architectural firms who would design the project.
2. Work with Park Board in overseeing the design and
implementati.on of the Town Green. Cou1d include:
- landscaping
- decorative lighting
- £lowers , shrubs, walkways , trees
- old fashioned bandstand/gazebo
- nature area
3. Coorciination of fund raising, promotion, and
public information regarding the praject.
