Water Tower Site Purchase Pric�
This item is for Councils information as it relates to the purchase price and
land acquisition for the new water tower site on the Kelley progerty just east of
the intersection of Connemara Trail and Shannon Parkway.
The Utility Commission, at its June 12, 1989 meeting, recommended obtaining the
additional. 100' to the east of our existing described property we are acquiring
from the Kelley Truste property. This 100' was necessary because the topograghic
map that we based our original description on was off in the horizontal direction
about 80' . This discrepancy was found after the survey crew went out to perform
a preliminary survey of the proposed site.
In addition, it appears that the Kelley property owners would be willing to sell
the tower site land at the same price that the City and School District purchased
the elementary school and park land to the north of this site. That purchase
price was $15,000 an acre. Our appraisal of the property was $12,000 an acre.
We need a little over 2 acres so the additional $6,0�0 would easily be spent on
condemnation fees.
This item is far Councils information because until our City Attorney can get a
commitment from the Kelley Truste people we will continue to negotiate with them.
