A1 Monk has peti[ioned the City to rez�ne his 1.06 acre parcel from G2 � Community Commercial to C-3 Highway Service Commercial to allow cansiruCtion `�: �f an automotiye service complex. This site abuts Sunrise Builder Supply an¢ is currently heing used as a Used Car Sales Lot. This matter was first considered by the Ptanning Commission at their May 2, 1989 meeting. At that time [he Planning Commission ur�ed Mr. Monk t� work with City Staff to consider developing on an alterna[ive site because of several land use conflicts posed by his proposal. Mr. Monk has proceeded [o work with City Staff anci the City H.R.A. in considering development on an alternakive site (Thorson/Lund Property), however, unsatisfied with the rate of progress he has requested action he taken on his rezoning petition. At its last meeting the Planning Commission recommended denial of the rezoning petition. At this time Staf f requests that Cily Council set a public hearing date for � September 5, 1989, at $:00 or as soon thereafter as possible to co�sider the rezoning petition of A1 Monk. , � :t `�.
