During that meeting, areas of concern that were addressed included; that Diane or Bill would facilitate our decision making, not lead us to their determination of what our information says, that this was a first for many of us and we would all need assistance in understanding just what a session like this ean and cannot do, and finally, that this will be a group of policy makers and staff and therefore it is important to understand that an important part of this session will be the coming together on what the issues are and Mow they can be addressed - not necessarily the ability to have grop consensus on what decision is right or wrong on specific issues. Although brief, the attached letter of proposal reflects what I believe is Diane's understanding of our needs and how she and Bill will assist us in such a session. I believe we have to be realistic in our expectations as to results from such a session, but I have high hopes on what we can accamplish in this first session. With her per hour fee quoted, I would estimate that an eight hour session, including meals and meeting room (possibly at the Holiday Inn in Burnsville) the entire cost would be about $1,200.04. We could hoid thi from 2 :00 p,m. until 10:00 p.m. on a weekday or 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday. I wauld suggest that either would work we11. Your appravaY to accept Bill and Diane's proposal on an hourly basis and City staff's proceeding to set up the session would be in order. I would be pleased t4 discuss this in more length at the meeting. dw _.__ .. # I K j r 1./ j j "•+..I'./ . '.# . . . . . . . .. . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .... . . . . j, i . . . . . . j August 9, .98 ; ' , Mr. Staphan Ji.k City Admirieaar _ Ciy o!
