JANUARY 17, 1989
Pursuant to due call and natice thereof a special meeting af the City
Council af the City of Rosemoun� was duly held an Tuesday, January 17,
1989, at 6;3� p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Ha11.
Mayor Hoke ealled the meeting to order with all membexs pre�ent.
Mayor Hoke led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

i.deas and �uqgesti.ons on how the eity can dev�lop an urban dasign
framework for the downtown area. Moorish provided several
recommendations an how the eity can maintain its id+entity and create
eharacter. Morrish presented ideas on future dev�lopment o� the
downtown area. Some of these i.deas ineluded tMe }�autification of the
downtown area through future landscaping and streetscaping, maintainiizg
the existing £ocal poin�s in the downtown �re�, expanding the park area
adjacen� to Erf.ckson Park, maintaining th� historical iandrnarks in the
city, and deveioping the city street system to encourage residents to
center travel to the dawntown area,
A recess was called at 7':30 p.m. to allow the regular council meeting
�o be called to arder. The special meeting resumed at 7;33 p.rn, '
Moorish and Brown answered several quest�,ons from the audience and
Council.
The Design Team members agreed to return at another �late onee the
attitude survey results are completed and staft and council have
further opportunity to review the Desigrt Team's suggestions and
comments.
