Approve purchase of Public Warks Department Vehieles
This item is for Council to consider approval of purchasing a 1/2 ton pickup and
a 1 ton truck from the Hennegin Gounty Gooperative Purchasing Agresment.
The 1989 C.I.P. ealled for two additional vehicles for the Public Works
Department fZeet. flne vehicle was a I/2 ton pickup and the other was a 1 ton 4x4
dump truck. Each of these items was available through the H.G.C.P. Agreement,
which recently awarded bids for these items. Attached are the results af these
bids.
As you can see the bids for the pickup and the one ton trnek are ordered through
Thane Hawkins Polar Chevrolet. Both items are weil within our budget. The 112
ton pickup will not require any additional equipment ather than a radio. The one
ton 4x4 truck will require the purchase of a 9flOWp10W and dump box. We
anta.cipate the remaining balance o€ $7,000 should be enough to purchase the
snowplow and box.
Recommended action for Couneil to consider is to approve the purchase of the 1/2
ton pickup and one ton 4xk through the Hennepin County Cooperative Purehasing
Agreement as reeo�nended.
