Approve Amendment to OSM Engineering Contract, Pro `e,Z ct 194
This item consist of approval of amending the scope and estimated cost of OSM's
engineering services for the Shannon Parkway project north of the Country Hiils
3rd Addition and south of the Shannon Oaks development.
The reason for this addition is due to the sanitary sewer we need to build from
' Lift Station �S to the new elementary school site. We had originally anticipated
that U.S. Homes would be able to design and construct this line because the
_ school district indicated they did not need occupancy of the building untii
August of 1990. zn reeent meetings we found out the school district wants to
occupy the building June 1, 1990. Assuming current market conditions, U. S.
Homes anticipated beginning development i,n that area in 1990 and would have had
the survey work done for the sanitary sewer. This would have fit our original
timetable outlined in the feasibility report because we cauld have contructed khe
sanitary sewer in 1990. But this timetable would noC provide assurance that
sanitary sewer would be available to the school for a June 1 occupancy: For
� these xeasons we are extending the scape of engineering services for OSM to
include the surveying and detailed design of thi� sanitary sewer line. The
additional estimated cost for design engineering services is not to exceed
$4,400.00�
� Recommended action for Council to eonsider would be to approve of the amendment
� to the OSM engineering contract:
