SUBJ: Land Use Study - Planning Consultant
The City Council recently adopted a moratorium on landfills, which was
intended to allow the City appropriate time to evaluale issues
surrounding the USFCi containment facility �roposal. As the Council is
� aware, the new zoning ordinance has no provisions in ik for a facility of
this nature. At the recommendation of the City Attorney, the Council
passed a resolution recommending a land use p(anning siucly be prepared.
The moratorium ordinance expires July 1, 1989. The City Attorney has
recQmmended that we make every aitempt to complete thc pianning study
and resolve the zoning ordinance issue prior co .iuly L In order to
expand upon our own viewpoints on this matter and meet a ra�idly
apprpachin� deadline, I would like auEh�rizalic>n to c�btain quotes from
planning consultants to assist the City in this praject.
