NEW BUSINESS
Receive Bids/Award Contract 1489-5 Shannon Parkwa Streets & Utilities
On Friday, July 14, 1989 at 10:00 a.m. Staff opened bids for street and utility
improvements within an extension of Shannon Parkway between I37th Street West and
the Shannon Oaks Addition. Attached is a bid tabulaCion listing the number of
bidders and their bid amounts. Our Consulting Engineering Firm of Q.S.P1. is
checking the multiplications on the proposal sheets. Assuming the proposais are
accurate, then the apparent lowest responsible bidder is Richard Knutson
Construction at $771,810.25.
We will be requesting Council accept the bids subject to final approval by the
Office of State Aid and receipt of Right of Entry from the Kelley Trust and U. S.
FIomes. We should be receiving these by July 21, 1989.
Recommended action for Council to consider is to adopt the attached resolution
receiving bids and awarding Contract 1989-5, Shannon Parkway Street and Utility
Improvements to the lowest responsible t�idder subject to State Aid approvals and
Right of Entry receipt and authorize the Piayor and City Clerk to sign the
contract documents.

A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING
CONTRACT ON SHANNON PARKWAY STREET & UTILITY IMPROVEMEHTS
CiTY PRQ3ECT I�O. 194
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City o£ Rosemount, Piinnesota, as
follows:
1. All bids on construction of Shannon Parkway 5treet & Utility
Improvements are hereby received and tabulated.
2. The bid of Richard Knutson Construction, Inc. in the amount of
5771,810.25 for the construction of said improvements in accordance
with the plans and specifications and advertisement for bids a.s the
lowest responsible bid and shall be and hereby is acceptcd.
3. The Piayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a
contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements fpr
and on hehalf of the City of Rosemount.

4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to
� all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the degosit
— of the successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be
retained until a contract has been executed.
