Ap�rove Specifications/Authorize Advertisement for Bids=New Single Axle Cab �

& Chassis Truck

This item consist of asking Gouncil to approve specifications and, authorize ,the �
bid opening for the purchase of a new single axle, minimum 30,500�t GVW, cab & !
chassis truck. The request for a bid opening �aould be for December 15, 1989 at �
10:-00 a.m.
The new single axle eab & ehassis truck will replace an existing I974 model. The
existing truck in its present state is not safe to drive. It would require a
substantial investment to make the necessary repairs in the brake system and
other mechanical companents to make it usable. Therefore, we would propose to
trade in the 1974 unit, along with its snowplaw, wing, sander and snowbox,
This item has been in the C.I.P. for replacement in 1990 since at least 19$6.
The 1990 C.I.P. has $78,000 budgeted for the purchase of the truck, dump, wing,
snowplow and sander. ;
Recommended aetion for Council tq consider is to approve the specifications and
( authorize the bid opening on December 15, 1989 at 1U:00 a.m. `
