RE: Tree Purcha.ses for Parks
This pa.st spring Rich Hefti purcha.sed trees for the Hawkins Pond
project. We worked out a deal with Greg's Tree Farm for the purchases
and planting.
At that time we ha.d checked with various nurseries for prices and sizes
of trees. Greg's ha.d a far lower price on all of the plants. In most
cases we were able to have the trees planted for the same price that
the other nurseries ha.d for only the purchase of the trees.
This is the case at the present time also. Greg's Tree Farm has a far
better price list for our use.
Mark Joosten has been working to put a list of trees and supplies
together agaiu for our park development. We have a limited amount of
dollars in the budget to spend. Staff from our department will be going
to the nursery to select the plants. There will be varying types,
amounts, and prices due to this process.
