MINNESOTA 55068 612-423-4411 December 31, 1987 TO: Mayor Elect Hoke Councilmembers Elect: Oxborough Wippermann Councilmembers: Napper Walsh FROM: Stephan Jilk, Administrator/Clerk .,i RE: Special Council Meetings I would ask your consideration for establishing special council meetings for the following. (1) January 25th at 3:30 P.M. - purpose would be to hear presentations by our city attorney's office and our financial consultants to review, with you, what their services entail to the city. It would seem to be an appropriate time for this since we have three new members on our council and with the growth we are experiencing. (2) February 9th at 6:30 P.M. - purpose would be to hear presentations by departments heads reviewing the general concept of their department's responsibility, any specific items of information such as budgets and open for questions. Time will allow for half of the departments that evening. (3) March 8th at 6:30 P.M. - purpose to be to allow second half of the department heads to make a presentation. A motion to set these special meetings would be in order. lj 4501 minnetonka boulevard minneopolis, minnesoto December 23, 1987 55416 612.920-3080 ROSEMOUNT CITY HALL ACOUSTICAL PROCEEDURES COUNCIL CHAMBERS PHASE I 1. Just a few comments on these: 6(a) A resolution designating the banking depositories needs to be adopted. Such a resolution setting out recommended banks is attached. 6(b) Staff is recommending we designate the "Dakota County Tribune" as our official newspaper. A simple motion is in order to take such action. You have letters of request from both the "Tribune" ` and the "Countryside" for this designation. 6(c) A list of Council liaison appointments, proposed by Mayor Elect Hoke is attached. Unless changes are made to this, a simple motion approving these, all in one motion, is in order. 6(c)& 6(d) A list of current commission/committee appointments is attached. This list shows the people whose terms are up/resignations. Mayor Elect Hoke has discussed these with you. Action to appoint persons to these positions should be one at a time by simple motion. Mayor Elect Hoke has discussed with me the possibility of putting off appointments in some cases and forming a committee to interview candidates for the commissions. If this is done, a simple motion to set up the committee and a time frame for returning recommendations to the Council is in order. smj
