STJPJWT: Authorize Purchase of Tractor for Parks Departim-it
Tock Cook and I have contacted four of the area implement
dealers in regards to the purchase of a 50 HP tractor. These
dealers have been asked to compile quotes relating to their
product and to submit it to us by noon on Mardi 14, 1988.
11ze dealers handle the John Deere, International / Case , and
the Ford line of tractors.
We have been assured that the price of the tractor will be
less than $15,000.00 by the majority of the dealers. That is
the reason we have gene to quotes rather than sealed bids.
At least three of the dealers said they would have their
quotes delivered on or before the deadline.
We do have $20,000.00 in the CIP for the purchase of the
tractor and equipment that will be used on ball fields and
for turf management. Since the equi_nt other than the
tractor, such as the landscape drag, will be ordered fron an
area machine shop it was not a listed with the request for
quotes for the tractor.
The tabulation of the quotes and a recommendation for a
vendor will be available shortly after the nam deadline on
March 14th.
I am asking you to hake a reomrimrtation to the city council
to authorize the use of the 1988 CIP funds for the purchase
of a 50 HP tractor for the Parks & Recreation Department.
