A copy of the survey sent out, a copy of the completion of the results, a list of the cities the survey was sent to and returned from are all attached for you review. It appears that the majority, by far, have a planning commission, Park and Rec Board and Cable T.V. Commission. Few have a Utility Commission and almost half have HRAs. k Very few cities pay regular monthly or annual salaries but most pay associated expenses for conferences and outside city meetings. Where there is payment it varies from $10/meeting to $35/meeting and in some cases officers of the Committee/Commission receive more than members. As you may see only 3 of the 19 planning commissions n>Embers receive Vay other than ex uses, 2 of 17 Park & Rec. Boards and 2 of 7 HRA s. So, seven (pout of forty-two commissions/committees receive pay other than conferences, etc. What we. see, I.believe, is that these types of decisions tend to be left to local discretion and each city is different. The results, though revealing, still leave the decision up to Rosemount. I found nothing in state statutes restricting what per diems or salaries that the city council would approve for their commissions/committees.
