Approve Plans & Specs, City Contract 1988-1
Valley Oak Addition Replat, Phase III Street and Utilities
On March 15, 1988 Council held a Public Hearing to consider the public
improvements of utilities and streets for the Phase III of the Valley Oak Replat
Addition, which is otherwise known as Winds Crossing. The Council authorized the
project and ordered our Consulting Engineers to prepare plans and specifications
for these improvements. These plans and specifications are now complete and
Staff is recommending that Council approve the plans and specifications and
authorize advertisement for bids for City Contract 1988-1. This approval should
be subject to the developer completing the grading for the remainder of the
Valley Oak Addition Replat. We do not want to authorize bids until this grading
is complete because of potential claims and contract management problems that
would arise should the developer not complete his grading. The developer knows
of this requirement and I will be sending him a reminder.
The action for Council to consider regarding this item would be to approve the
plans and specifications and authorize a bid opening for City Contract 1988-1,
Valley Oak Addition Replat-Phase III Street and Utility Improvements, subject to
the developer successfully completing his site grading.
CITY OF ROSEMOUNT
RESOLUTION 1988 -
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS
FOR VALLEY OAK ADDITION REPLAT, PHASE III
STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS
CITY PROJECT NO. 180
WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution passed by the Rosemount City Council on the
15th day of March, 1988, the City Engineer did prepare pians and specifications
for the construction of street and utility improvements to the area known as
Valley Oak Addition Replat Phase III and has presented these plans and
specifications to the Rosemount City Council for approval.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the _City of Rosemount
hereby approves the Engineer's final plans and specifications for street and
utility construction in Valley Oak Addition Replat, Phase 111; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rosemount hereby
authorizes the City Administrator/Clerk to prepare and cause to be inserted in
the official City newspaper and advertisement for bids upon the making of such
improvements under such approved plans and specification. The advertisement
shall be published as required in Minnesota Statutes 429 and shall specify the
work to be completed and shall state the time and place of the opening of these
bids and the time and place that the City Council will consider these bids.
No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City
Administrator/Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond
or certified check payable to the City of Rosemount in the amount if five (5%)
percent of the bid submitted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said plans and specifications be placed on file in
the office of the City Administrator/Clerk.
