Approve Funding for Purchase of High Pressure Hot Water Washer
In the past we have had an extremely difficult time in keeping our trucks and
heavy equipment clean. This is due to lack of the appropriate cleaning
equipment. Because the heavy equipment is very expensive and we need to protect
our investment I am requesting the purchase of a high pressure hot water washer.
Our current unit operates on cold water and does not have near the pressure
capability that the unit I am proposing has.
The unit I am requesting to purchase is Model PHWS4-2000 Landa Hot High Pressure
Washer. The cost is $3,955 but the vendor will allow us $400 for trade-in of our
old washer. I am requesting that Council approve $3,555 of the excess C.I.P.
funding that remained from the purchase of the street sweeper. Council
authorized up to $10,000 (for Handicap Access Project) of the $19,000 which
remained after the purchase of the new street sweeper.
