RE: Tom Thumb Public Hearing to Approve Off -Sale Non -
Intoxicating Malt Liquor License
At the July 5, 1988 Council meeting Council scheduled a public
hearing for July 19, at 8:00 p.m. to consider'the application
received from Tom Thumb Food Markets, Inc. to sell 3.2% beer
(non -intoxicating malt liquor) at their new store located at
15040 Canada Avenue.
The application was reviewed at the July 5 Council meeting. The
city has received the $15.00 application fee and the required
certificate of insurance for liquor Liability.
As required in the City Code, Police Chief Staats has conducted
an investigation on Wallace Robert Pettit, President, and has
indicated to me that this individual has a clear record; and
therefore, finds no reason to deny this corporation a license
based upon his investigation.
As of this date, staff does not know whether a representative
from Tom Thumb will be p esent at the hearing.
It is staff's recommendation to Council to approve the
application received from Tom Thumb Food Markets, Inc. for an
Off -Sale Non -Intoxicating Malt Liquor License for Tom Thumb Store
#276 for the period of July 19, 1988 to June 30, 1989.

I am a United States citizen and the duly qualified Clerk of the
City of Rosemount.
On July 6, 1988, acting on behalf of the said City, I posted at
the Rosemount City Hall, 2875 —145th Street West, a copy of the

attached notice of public hearing regarding' an application for
off -sale non -intoxicating malt liquor license.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the City Council of the City of
Rosemount, Minnesota has scheduled a public hearing for 8:00
o'clock p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, Tuesday,
July 19, 1988, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 2875 -
145th Street West, Rosemount, Minnesota.
This public hearing is being held to consider an Application for
Off -Sale Non -Intoxicating Malt Liquor License presented by Tom
Thumb Food Markets, Inc. The applicant is proposing to operate a
convenience store/self-service gasoline station, located at 15040
Canada Avenue.
Such persons as desire to be heard with reference to the above
hearing item will be heard at this meeting. Written comments
will be accepted up to the time of the hearing and will be
included in the discussion at this hearing.
