Conduct Town Meeting (MCIP Leadership) Council, Staff Oct 25 Tentative Schedule: y ! MCIP A. Dream session - what do we want for this j Community? Split up into groups of 5 -8. - Each group will come up with 5-8 goals/ 1 dreams/concerns for Rosemount. (Goals are broad, general, non - specific, future j oriented statements that answer the questions "what?" or "which?") I B. Large group categorizing and ranking. Small groups udll re -convene and MCIP will lead goal categorizing and ranking session using white board, or large easel pads. (5-6 categories will emerge.) C. Result of citizen attitude survey. Decision Resources will review survey and highlight the major trends, tendencies or attitudes interpreted from the survey! D. Category/Subcommittee Brainstorming Session. Large group divides up by category/interest. Subcommittees will synthesize "Dream Session'' i goals with survey results, coming up with a revised list of 5-6 goals. Subcommittee Meetings Five or six category/subcommittees meet to Oct 26 determine objectives that kill fulfill goals established at the town meeting. (Objectives are more specific, in other words, an action plan of "how" to achieve established goals.) One or two meetings? V. Joint Meetings: Advisory Committee and Subcommittees Each category/subcommittee will report its objectives/action plan to the Advisory Committee. Advisory Committee reviews and amends goals and objectives preparing final report to present to Staff/Council/Commissions. (Two meetings?) VI. Advisory Committee Reports to Council and Commissions i Advisory Committee presents list of goals and action plan objectives by category. VII. Strategic Planning Jan 4 A. Staff, Council and commissions critique/amend Advisory Committee goals and action plan. B. Council and Staff strategize one to two year action plan to carry out goals and objectives. VIII.
