Adopt Resolution to Approve Plans & Spec's / Authorize Bid Opening - Lift Station #5, City Project #192i DATE: AUGUST 11, 1988 TO: MAYOR & COUNCILMEMBERS C/O CITY ADMINISTRATOR JILK FROM: RICH HEFTI, CITY ENGINEER/PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR., RE: ITEMS FOR THE AUGUST 16, 1988 COUNCIL MEETING CONSENT AGENDA Adopt Resolution to Approve Plans & S2ecs/Authorize Bid Opening Lift Station #5, City Project #192 Lift Station #5 is necessary to provide sanitary sewer service for the Country Hills 3rd Addition and other properties in Section 19. I am requesting that Council approve plans and specs and authorize a bid opening date for the construction of this Lift Station for the following reasons: 1. U. S. Homes, Inc. has petitioned for streets and utilities for the Country Hills 3rd Addition, which requires this Lift Station for sanitary sewer service. 2. The manufacturer delivery time for a lift station takes about 1.6-18 weeks. In order for the Country Hills 3rd Addition to be a viable project for the spring Of 1989, it is necessary, because of the long time frame for the manufacture and delivery of lift station, to proceed as soon as possible. Because a lift station is considered a Core Facility it will be financed out of Sanitary Sewer Core Facility Funds. Therefore, there is no need for any special assessments or to follow the special assessment process. Recommended action for Council to take would be to approve the plans and specifications a bid opening for Lift Station #5, City Contract 1988-8 and authorize the bid opening to be held Friday, September 16, 1988 at 11:00 a.m. I CITY OF ROSEMOUNT RESOLUTION 1988 - A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS LIFT STATION # 5 (COUNTRY HILLS 3RD ADDITION) PROJECT #192 WHEREAS, the Consulting Engineers for the City have prepared final plans and specifications for Lift Station #5 (Country Hills 3rd Addition), Project #192, and such plans and specifications have been presented to this Council for approval; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota: 1.
