28 RAISE FENCE IN ERICKSON PARK (FIELDS 4 & 5) 10,000 The
outfield fences were installed at the heights of 4'. There
is a tendency for players to be at risk of falling over the fence
when playing the fly ball. The fence is to be taken down and
replaced with a fence either 8' high or 10' high.
30 IRRIGATION FOR ATHLETIC FIELD IN CONNEMARA PARK 15,000
Expenses for development of this park will be covered from
dollars from the general funds, CIP, and Park Dedication. The
irrigation will be followed in the same project with sod that -
will be paid for through the Park Dedication Funds.

54 IRRIGATION OF JAYCEE PARK 30,000
56 BALLFIELD FENCE FOR BASEBALL / FAST PITCIi 15,000
The irrigation and fencing will be financed through the CIP in
conjunction with Park Dedication funding as well as donations
from the Jaycee organization. Grading and general landscaping
along with the seeding of the park will be completed as one
proposal. This development will coincide with the Wensmann
Development and grading.
58 PORTABLE DOCK FOR SCHWARZ POND 2,500 The
Parks & Recreation Committee has discussed this item for
a few years. The low water level allowed the crew to clean up the
pond shore line. A fishing pier (dock) is planned for putting into
the pond in the spring and for removal during the winter months.

The service area that this park will serve has been increased with
new developments taking place. The Carrollton II Addition has an easement
provided for the residents to acceq*s this park from 148th street.
The present equipment will be evaluated for replacement. Addiiiona.l
equipment will be added to park to serve the increased population'
of the area.

1990 14 CHIPPENDALE TRAIL COMPLETION 155TH TO 160TH 8,500 The trail
system on Chippendale will have been completed by this
time from County Rd. #42 to Winds Park parking lot. This portion
in the budget will complete the trail system from County Rd. #42
to 160th Street.

16 MATERIAL FOR UPGRADING RINKS IN ERICKSON PARK 13,000
These rinks are in need of repair at this time. The repairs will
be done along with items 24 and 46. These rinks were installed
facing the wrong direction (east aAd west). This causes additional
ice melt along the boards. The project will be to change the rinks
to face north and south and replace materials as required.
24 SHELTER AND REST ROOMS IN ERICKSON PARK BETWEEN 85,000
RINKS AND GARAGE AREA
The warming house in the hockey rink area is too small. The shelter
will serve for a warming house in the winter months. It will also
serve as a picnic shelter for the summer months. The shelter area
is located behind the city hall in an area of Erickson Park
where a nature trail will have been developed.
46 REPLACE LIGHTING AT ERICKSON PARK RINKS 8,000
These lights should have been replaced in 1989. Due to the rinks
being moved and repaired this year the lighting was also put
into the 1990 budget. This will allow for the rinks, the lighting,
and the shelter to be addressed in the same period of time.
28 BASKETBALL COURT AND LANDSCAPING IN CAMFIELD PARK 10,000
The court will give additional active use of the park. It will be
approximately the same size as the court in Dallara Park.

This rink will serve as a multi purpose rink. Discussions at the
Parks & Recreation Committee meeting dealt with putting a concrete
surface in the skating area. This will allow for roller blading in
the summer and also serve for other uses such as volleyball and
badminton. (concrete costs are not addressed in this budget item)
40 PARK SHELTER FOR JAYCEE PARK 100,000
Shelter will serve as a warming house for the skating programs
in the winter months. There will be rest rooms included. It will
serve as a major picnic center for the city. The costs for this
shelter will be considerably higher than this figure when it is
completed. Additional Jaycee donations and Park Dedication
funds will be required to complete the project.

Item is to replace the old equipment.

Replace equipment that is rotted and damaged. Kidder will
possibly need an increase in the amount also.

Lighting is for the baseball / fastpitch area as well as the
soccer field area. Lighting will serve for skating area in the
winter months also.
22 LAND PURCHASE FOR "SHANNON NORTH PARK"

Land dedication was given in the development process of the
Country Hills area. The concept is to add another 7 or 8 acres
to that area to develop a community park. The amount listed in
this budget would be for that park land purchase.
24 PARK SHELTER FOR 'TWIN PUDDLES PARK
40,000
The area serves as both a holding pond and a parka Although no
major landscaping is planned there is ample space for this
shelter to serve as a center for a picnic site. The park will
be serving, in conjunction with Dallara, Chippendale, and Kidder,
a larger population as the city grows in this area.

24 SHELTER FOR ERICKSON PARK SOCCER AREA

This shelter area will serve for picnics and other functions
in this park. It will also serve as a shelter that is available
to families for weekends even when a tournament is being held
in another portion of the park. Parking will be added which
will be a positive for the soccer program throughout the season.
28 PARK SHELTER FOR CONNEMARA PARK

This park will serve the people who use the park both during
tournaments and the general use in the evenings. This park
has an irrigated soccer field along with a nature area. The
shelter will serve a large population when it is built.

Added with item #32 this will help to develop an athletic
area for soccer, football, and little league. Tire irrigation
will allow for proper maintenance of a facility that will have
high frequency use.

Installation of sod in this area will speed up the development
process. Athletic areas for soccer, football, and little league
require the same maintenance as the adult fields do for the
softball programs.

a general all purpose shelter large enough for large picnics
and general community use.
