RE: Apgointment of Election Judge
Beeause of the increase of resident in Precinct 4 (south af
145th 5treet and West of Chippendale) , the elPctian udges fcr
that precinct are requesting that an additional, udge be
appointed to wor}c the afternoon shift. Traditionally, Precine
4' g peak hours are during th eariy evening hours when people get
off work and stop tv vate. We ae hoping for a good ttzrnout far
the November 8 election day; and if his is so, there wil.l be an
increase of new residents in the oity who wil.l be registering to
vote. Th new election judge will add one more pers4n to help `
with rgistering new voters:
It i.s my reeammendation that you adopt the Resolution appointing
Joyce Eschenbacher as an eleetion judge. Jayce served as an
electian uclge in Nebraka for three years and volun.eered to
work for Rosemount.
As a point of infarmation, I wou].d like to tel.l you that our new
election equipment worked very well for the primary election.
Ater the palls closed the eleetion eaptains wer at city hall.
wi.thin 20 minutes to gi,ve me the election results. I then
delivered th results to the County Auditox' s office where our
"memory pacs" from eaah of the four precinets were install.ed in.o
a tabulator and Rosemount's rsults were instantl.y compiled with
other city and township' resuits within aparoximately twc
minutes.
The election udges did an excel).ent ob warking with the new
system. It is my understanding from the udges that the vaters,
although a very 1ow representation, seemed to l.ike the new
system.
Also for your information, listed below is the voter turnout
percntages for each precf.nct:
Precinct 1 : 10.78' P •
recinct 3. 12.47
Pracinct 2: 1Q.10 Frec3,net 4: 8.8II$
Total Average Voter Turnout f4r Rosemount: 10.38
