KE: Purchase and Inst�llation of Lighting at Hockey Rinks
Information was received yesterday from Corrigan Electric pertaining to the
fact that lights and poles at an Eagan site were being taken down. Two o€
the poles and 7 of the lfghts had become avail�ble for purch�se from the
City of Eagan and eauld be used at the Erickson Park hockey ri:nks.
Corrigan E�ectric related the fact that a good price for these items would
be about $l,Ofl0.00. 3ince the eost to the City af Eagan for taking down the
poles and Iights was around $650.00 that city would end up with a gain of
about $350.00.
The cost to Corrigan for bringing the SO foot poles to Rosemount and
installing the lighting woul.d be approximately another $1,000.0�.
I made an offer to the Direetor of Parks in the City af Eagan of $1 ,000.00 ,
for the materials. He accepted that offer.
T am requesting authorization fro' the City Council to cosplete this
purchase and to set up an order for Corrigan Electric to install these items
in the north hoc�ep rink of Erickson Park.
The total amount should be approximately $2,000.00. The funding can come
from Park Dedication fund� due to the fact that this is a new purchase.
The lights and poles are of the same type that can be used again in 1990
when the rinks are improved and the new lighting system added to them.
