Au�horize Advertisement for Bids for Fire bepartment Vehicles
The Public Works Department assisted the Fire Department in pr�paring
specifications for three new vehicies for purchase under the 19$9 C. I . P. These
vehicles inciude two (2) 4x4 pickups and one (1) Chevy suburban type vehicle.
The pickups wi12 be used to replace the two existing grass rigs. mhe command
vehicle is a new concept for the Fire Department. '
As for the two existing grass rigs f4x4) , one wili be to replace the existing
hose reel pickup, which is a 1972 Ghevy. The other wili be assigned to tt�e
Pvblic Works Department for use as an engineering surveying vehicie. The Public
Works Department will make use of the 1972 Chevy picku� also,
Recommended action for Cauncil to consider is to approve the sgecifications for
the Fire bepartment vehicles and authorize a bid 'opening on Friday, January 6,
1989 at lO:OQ A.Pt.
