SUBJECT: SPRING CLEA14UP DAY
As in the past, I am requesting that the City hold a SPRING
CLEANUP DAY. Most of us know that we collect many trash boxes of
"JUNK" and many old appliances and hot water heaters.
I would like to make a change this year in the operation of this
project. In the past, I did most of the work in preparing before.
the day and working at the dumping site the day of. I would like to
ask that some of the City Staff be included in this project. With
the price of scrap iron being down to almost nothing, it is hard to
find someone to take the old appliances and hot water heaters. In
fact, we have had to pay someone to pickup the old gunk machines. I
feel that the City either drop the collection of old appliances or
have the City haul them up to the scrap yard and hope that it is
cheaper for us to do it than trying to find and pay someone else.
I would like to show someone else what to do in setting up the
cleanup day. This project will and should go on for many more
Wears. It would be nice to have a staff person that knows what to
do or what goes on.
The Park & Rec Committee along with other groups has tried to hold
a Park Improvement Day the same day as the Spring Cleanup Day.
Maybe they would like to be involved in the Spring Cleanup project 7
There is room on the back of the flyer to announce thier
improvement project.
